The Takshila Yearbook is a visually rich and comprehensive resource covering diverse subjects for a broad audience.
The Takshila Yearbook, originally conceived for school teachers, has grown significantly in popularity and is now distributed by the Takshila Education Foundation to a broader audience, including artists, intellectuals, and academicians. This visually rich yearbook offers a comprehensive overview of various subjects, providing readers with essential information at a glance. Each edition covers a diverse range of topics, such as the public art practices, crafts, music, and films of India, featuring around 150 to 160 entries. These entries include concise and engaging anecdotes, historical markers, and notable facts, such as the first talkie film in India or famous filmmakers, offering a well-rounded snapshot of each subject.
CMAC played a pivotal role in the creation of the Takshila Yearbooks, handling the design, text research, and sourcing and producing the accompanying visuals. The process involved extensive collaboration with experts, including architects and art historians, to ensure the accuracy and richness of the content. For example, the yearbook on Indian architecture includes contributions from various professionals in the field. CMAC has meticulously curated and designed the final product, ensuring it meets high standards of quality and visual appeal. This carefully crafted yearbook is being distributed free of charge, making valuable educational resources accessible to a wide audience.
